“Seven Steps to Better Parenting,” as soon as I received this August 2007 issue of Awake, I couldn’t stop myself from reading it at that very instant.
I am a mother of a one-year old boy and as a worshiper of our true God Jehovah, I always pray that my little son would grow up into a faithful servant of Jah someday. So my husband and I are doing our very best, through Jah’s help, to follow the counsel of Proverbs 22:6 and rear our child in His ways. Even when CHIEN (our son) was still in my womb, we sang Kingdom songs to him, read Bible and told him about Jehovah God. After I gave birth and recovered strength, we brought Chien in the Kingdom Hall to attend his first meeting outside the womb --- he was just 13 days then! Since that day, we always bring him in the meetings and in the other Kingdom Halls where his father was being invited as a speaker. There was even a time when I brought him with me in the field ministry. It was during the distribution of the Kingdom News #37 (The End of False Religion is Near) and no one could look over Chien if I would join the group. So when I heard that the territory was just in our neighborhood, I joined the group with Chien in his pushcart! My husband on his part is trying his very best to apply the Bible principle written in Deuteronomy 6:6-9, that is to teach our son about Jah in every possible way.
Truly, “Godly Training Bears Good Fruits” --- as I read this article in the same issue of Awake, I was moved to share our experience with our child (Proverbs 10:1). Only one year had passed since Jehovah God gave him to us, but indeed, Chien has already given us so much joy!
