A good job sounds really nice, but we all tend to want more. This is where companies include employee benefits into their compensation program. These benefits can determine whether a person takes a job, or how long they decide to stay with the company.
TradeStation Group is a trading platform that has transformed online trading for institutional, professional and serious individual traders. Their most unique benefit is their special employee perks. TradeStation “provides coffee, tea and hot chocolate daily and breakfast every Friday morning, two free movie tickets on your birthday and makes available on-site dry cleaning service three times a week” (TradeStation Group) I would like to have the 401k savings plan because it is never too early to plan for retirement. Also, included in the 401k plan is a company matching plan, which is very beneficial.
Western Digital sells computer drives. Their most unique benefit is their educational reimbursement program, where “Western Digital reimburses up to $5,250 in education expenses per calendar year” (Western Digital). The benefit I would like to have the most is the vacation package. What makes it interesting is the fact that there is also a Vacation Sell Plan that allows you to sell up to 80 hours.
I believe the proposed privatization of Social Security is not a good idea. The article, “Twelve Reasons Why Privatizing Social Security Is a Bad Idea,” supports my reasoning. The article states that creating private accounts could dampen economic growth, which would further weaken Social Security's future finances.
