The business I chose to analyze is Home Depot: They are a retail store that supplies needed items for your home, they provide rental tools. Online from store to store (Example if one store carry’s the item you need you can it delivered to a closer store for pick up. They offer an open communication lines for call in orders. With all of these in consideration Home Depot would fall under all the laws for personal jurisdiction. That show facts that they provide interaction of other around the world which would be considered Long arm jurisdiction and personal jurisdictions for receiving personal information online.

• Personal jurisdiction could be an issue for those who post websites due to the fine line of what is considered strictly interactive or strictly passive uses of the websites. The activity is however evident in a state out side a state where the website originates than the courts would have personal jurisdiction if the case came before a judge (Wolf 1999).

• Mr. Wolf explains the difference in interactive contact and passive contact, in which interactive contacts encompasses two- way communication which forecasts ongoing business relationships. While passive contact are those that simply make information available to interested viewers.(Wolf 1999). When websites owners design a website there are certain laws and criteria that can be subject to liabilities. If the company is doing business over the new entering into contacts with residence of a given state this is concern for personal jurisdiction. The informational purposes of the company that allows the user to provide personal information to solicit the business, than the owner can be subject to personal jurisdiction.
