When you read or hear about old biblical stories, they are often hard to believe. Unless you are a firm believer of how life began and you trust everything that was first written in the Testaments. I personally have mixed feelings on the whole issue, I believe something’s and others are just too farfetched for me. With that being said, Dr. Mary Slavin’s article was a very informative piece that does help explain things a little better. However if that truly is the case, it just stinks that even from creation, women never had a chance to be equal to man. In her book, Adam, Eve and the Serpent, Ellen Pagels writes “Although originally created equal with man in regard to her rational soul, woman’s formation from Adam’s rib established her as the ‘weaker part of the human couple.” Just the thought of that makes it seem like there was never any intentions on women ever being equal to man. There have been many actions taken in the past and currently to break that mold, but I don’t know if it could ever fully come to be.
Eve was tricked by an evil serpent much like women are tricked today by greedy disgusting men and just deceiving people in general. In this case it just so happened to be a woman but don’t get me wrong men get deceived all the time as well. When Eve was tricked by the serpent it was just the beginning of everyday emotions and temptations that humans face every day. But like I said before im not a 100% on this whole story, for all I know it could be totally false and I just thing it stinks that it was the woman who was the one that was taken advantage of.
If the story is true, then Adam was more at fault because he was aware of the consequences after Eve had already taken a bite and realized she had sinned and went against god’s word. Eve ...
