Business Plan

This year has been a very busy and eye opening year. I have attended four weddings and assisted in the decorating of three. Being involved in the set up o these weddings as allowed me to realize that the Lord as blessed me with a creative gift. At first I thought of it as a hobby or just something that I like to do. I still think of it as something that I enjoy to doing but also why not make money doing what I love to do. So after a lot of encouragement from my family I have decided to start my own business.
The name of my business would be “Creating a Dream”. It took me a while to come up with a good name. I wanted it to be catchy and to have some meaning. For someone that has never heard of my business I want for them to have an idea of what they are getting just by the name. I feel that me assisting in the outcome of a wedding or party is me helping in creating a dream.
The business structure of Creating a Dream is going to be sole proprietorship. I am choosing this form to run my business because sole proprietorship is the easiest to start. Also because I know that I am starting out small and I am going to be the one that is operating the business. Sole proprietorship is also good because I will get some tax advantages when tax time comes around. Partnership is also easy to start up but I chose not to go with this type just because I do not know anyone with the same skills that would benefit the business.
For this business I plan to start out small and in time grow to no end. Starting out I plan on making invitations, programs, and party favors. I plan on doing these for either weddings or parties.
