An important result of information systems development process is application software, which is designed to support organizational functions or processes. As information systems analysis and design is a complex organizational process whereby computer-based information systems are developed and maintained, information systems development projects are often unsuccessful due to the failure to meet user’s requirements, exceeding the estimated time schedule, high cost compared to the benefits realized, and difficulty and high cost to maintain the system developed (Necco, et al., 1987).
