Organizational Behavior- Management 201-A October 30, 2008 Introduction In this topic, the problem is what steps a manager can take to reduce cultural misinterpretations in a multicultural environment. I will introduce a real situation that can explain the multicultural environment and what a manager can do. This is the occasion of an F&B (Food & Beverage) Manager in a 4* (four star) hotel, where they were working people from many different countries that made the environment multicultural. I chose this hotel as I was been working there and I know the situation from my own and I can be more specific in details. The manager tried to do his job by providing to the employees safety about their values and beliefs. The three key points in achieving the decline in cultural misinterpretation are the development of a common culture in the organization, the communication between the manager and the employees as well as the communication between the employees themselves and finally the role the manager can play to manage a multicultural environment.
