For one he should have not said it in a sexist tone at the end of his statement he said and I quote “I saw a business lady”. To me the correct way to phrase that would be business woman. I found through my experiences of life that woman don’t particularly like to be called lady. It just shows that you have no respect for the other sex. He also stated he was going to brush up on his etiquette for the some of the good old boys at the top, he automatically assumes that the people on top are men. There are an equal amount of woman “at the top” in businesses.
It is very important to use inclusive language when communicating in your class forum, and in your real life. A lot of people don't take the time to consider everyone, but it is very easy to include inclusive language in your conversations. You could have easily avoided your common mistakes by including everyone, instead of just using him, her, wives, good ol' boys, and guys. You could have used these words: them, they, spouses, business people, and others to include everyone. In the future, you should try to take time to write your papers properly, think over what you are trying to say, and who you are speaking to.
