1) If Red Bull was looking to target toward African Americans, there is many different aspects that need to be considered before perusing this idea. The African American population is considered to be accessible through mainstream advertising. This can be done through TV, Magazines, as well as Newspapers. However what media sources they use can differ from the rest of the population. For instance if Red Bull was looking to get at the African American population two of the more popular stations to reach them through television include both UPN and CBS. Do to this Red Bull may consider targeting this population buy placing more of their ads on these two stations. This will increase the odds of this market viewing these ads becoming more aware of the product. In addition to targeted ads, Red Bull could look into targeting this marketing through strategic product placement. For instance, the African American population is well known to be heavy consumers of the NBA. If Red Bull was to link their product with a well known organization to the African American population such as the NBA, there is a very good chance that this market will become more likely to relate there product with the NBA and possibly increasing their consumption of it. Lastly, African Americans respond to advertisements that have other African Americans using the product being advertised. Now although Red Bull uses cartoon style advertisements, they usually are white in color. If they color a few of the characters in the ads to make them look of African decent, this may in return make African Americans more likely to see themselves actually using the product.
