II. Introduction
Information technology is essential, important and an extremely effective tool for international management in the world which helped development in not just private but also government and the public sectors. UEN (n.d.) explained that “Information technology is a term that encompasses all forms of technology used to create, store, exchange, and use information in its various forms.” Today’s information technology is bringing about another major revolution and the changes of global information technology are rapidly rising from time by time. Information technologies (IT) of ongoing advances along with increase in global competition have added complexity and uncertainty of several orders of magnitude to the organizational environment. The aims of this paper suggest the key issues to be used as a guide for the Global Information Technology Management to be successful in the rapid technological changes of the oriented market.
1. History of information technology revolution
The history of information technology can be characterized and classified into the four basic periods that are The Premechanical Age: 3000 B.C. - 1450 A.D., The Mechanical Age: 1450 - 1840, The Electromechanical Age: 1840 - 1940, The Electronic Age: 1940 - Present. (Butler, 1998) Today’s information technology world has begun to resemble a global village.
