EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
Within the leadership concept, every member of the team should make an essay of what is known as “Emotional Intelligence” (one page). Afterwards, the team should write down its own essay (one page). Both, individual and team essays, should be submitted for evaluation.
Now days we live in a globalized world, in which all organizations are looking for leaders that are capable to confront or adapt easily to different situations in which they can develop attitudes and solutions to the constant changes without the need of a constant supervisor. Daniel Goldman says on his article that emotional intelligence is fundamental in leaders since it is necessary to first know very well yourself in order to have a great relation with other people and know how to handle them. There are five components that people must have and develop in order to be more prepared and competitive in their job.
1. Self-awareness: which means “having a deep understanding of one' emotion, strengths, weaknesses, needs, and drives.” this will allow them to know how to know which are their limits and what they are capable to do. With this, the leaders have their principles and values clearly established, with makes them integral and successful leaders. As they have their principles clear, they know when to ask for help, they know very well the risks when they get involved into a challenge and they are 100% sure when they have a challenge and they can’t solve it alone. The most important issue in thin component is having the knowledge of who you are by also doing self evaluation of what he does.
