Events That Have Shaped Me AS A Teacher

Since I could not draw or scan an illustration, I have written my timeline in essay form. Within that essay form I have described the events and the importance and affect it has had on my life as both an individual and a teacher. As I have stated in previous assignments being older then most students, I have a different perspective on life and its events.
I understand that more then half the worlds lives on less then a dollar a day, and each day I realize how blessed we all are to live in the richest  (not in the terms of money),  and freest country in the world.  The Social Psychologist George Herbert Mead states” we are in essence a product of our environment.” We are molded by those around us witnessing their actions and deeds whether for the good or ill of society.
I have been molded and shaped by my environment, by the actions of those around me as I grew up and now into adulthood.  I firmly believe that “Education is the Key to Freedom,” and it is the teacher that provides that key.
Since I began teaching just a short two years ago and as I read the Bio’s of my adult learners and the struggles in their lives and what they have gone through moves me with great compassion to do all in my power to help them succeed. The definition of distance learning has become not as distant as I have interacted with some of my students by phone and e mails as well as in the course room.
As I felicitate my classes either conscientiously or sub- conscientiously my environment which has molded my life and molded me into a human being affects all of my actions both as a teacher and a human being.
