McDonald Marketing Case Study

7.1.    A brief history                       
McDonald’s grew quickly to become the world’s largest fast-feeder, It is more than 31,000 restaurant worldwide now serve 47 million customer each day, racking up sales of more than $50 billion annually. Furthermore, in America, McDonald’s opening in a small town can be an important social event, it is not American popular culture but it is a business world. It is not just a “hamburger place”. Salad, chicken nugget, and a variety of treats have kept the organization on top of the fast food heap. Ray Kroc (1902-1984), the genius behind the franchising of McDonald’s of McDonald’s restaurant, was a man with a big ideas and grand ambitions. He operate first McDonald’s restaurant in 1955 owned by Richard and Maurice McDonald. Kroc saw the McDonald brother’ fast food concept as a perfect fit for America’s increasingly on-the-go, time squeezed, and family-oriented lifestyles. (Ritzer, 2004).
Entering of early 2003 McDonald had their restaurant throughout the world which count it is 31,172 restaurants. McDonald has been a resounding success in the international arena. Over half of McDonald’s restaurants are outside the United States (in the mid-1980s, only 25% of McDonald’s were outside the United States). The majority (982) of the 1,366 new restaurants opened in 2002 were overseas (in the United States, the number of restaurants increased by less than four hundred). Well over half of McDonald’s revenue comes from its overseas operations. McDonalds are now serving 46 million customers per day.  (Ritzer, 2004).
