Issue and Opportunity Identification
Global Communication has a diverse senior leadership team. The SLT is comprised of two twenty plus year veterans who have made a career out of building relationships within the company and have placed value on building the business as well as the human element. Within the SLT there are also members who are not as mature in the telecommunications market, and have strong background in aggressive globalization and experience in creating innovative suite of products to market to small and medium business owners. Both ends of the SLT spectrum are critical to the success of Global Communications; however lines of communication within the SLT are not well utilized and professional issues have arisen because of it. During the transition into a truly global company there was no benchmarking implemented, either generic or competitive.  Implementing benchmarking and taking best practices that other company’s have experienced during revamps may have lessened the fallout of Global Communications transition.
While researching other company’s transition into global status Global Communications failed to research cross cultural communications. Moving into two diversified market and outsourcing the call centers will resort in another set of potential issues. Had Global Communications worked with the local Union they may have found a way to keep the call centers local, therefore keeping jobs and reducing possible cross cultural issues.
