Giving It All

GIVING IT ALL  DIANE M. PRYOR  AXIA COLLEGE of UNIVERSITY of PHOENIX  To be a leader is not only challenging mentally but physically as well. You have to watch what you say and do because you are held accountable for your actions and people look to follow your lead. When we least expect it the task can become more of a challenge than you first anticipated. I am a well-respected person in my field and the questionnaire backs up that statement. I strive to be honest yet open-minded and listen to what the people around me coworkers and customer alike has to say. I try not to pass judgment quickly but believe in firm action where it is due. I try to respect all the people that I work with and around which makes it disconcerting at times but intentional. Because respect earned is a gift to be shared with others especially your employees.  When dealing with retail based store the most important thing for a supervisor to remember is that in order to motivate the people around you must first motivate yourself. Keep in mind that to be a motivational leader you must shift your focus from yourself to your team. Be the one that they always turn to when there is a problem or conflict that needs resolved or when they need help or support. Listen to what they have to say when they want to talk and be open-minded and do not be judgmental half way through the conversation. Let them finish and offer advice where and when it is needed.  According to the questionnaire and my peers, I am the person people most often turn to for help. That in turn makes me more competent and better able to motivate others than most people. I try hard to influence the outcome of events and possess the ability to inspire others to follow my lead.
