God’s Warriors Reflection
In class starting last week we watched a half video documentary on CNN called God’s Warriors. We just finished up the last half of the video last Friday. We also had to do some reading from Frost J. Williams about the history of different religion perspectives on war and peace. I must say that the video was very disturbing to me, I did not realize how much fighting was going on in the East. I knew that the Jewish lands were valuable because of the oil under Israel, but I did not know that there was fighting still going on today. According to Frost if the Jews fight and remain strong they will keep their land. I paid close attention to the army Lieutenant when he was talking about how they felt euphoric when the conquered the stronghold. He said he essentially stated that he felt a high that he never felt before. I could really imagine because when you have ancient lands such as those that have been aimed at for years, it really must be a great feeling to finally take them over. I’m sure when they took the place over, glory was one word to describe it. I was really disturbed with the video. I do not understand why they are killing each other over land and religion. I am not really a religious person so it makes me angry to see these people killing each other for nothing in my eyes. This to me is one of the dumbest things in the world and if I was a political leader, I would definitely aim to stop this unnecessary chaos. I know in Frost it states that war is necessary for the protection of the land, but their needs to be a change. Another thing in the video that I disagree with, on different levels are Evangelists. Not only do the Jews have Evangelists but so does America. But I will say this, at least the Jewish on ...
