Great Commission

Matthew 28:19-20 “The Great Commission”
Not very long ago, I stood in front of my graduating class, speech in front of me, offering them some final words of advice and instruction before we all went our separate ways.  This reminds me a lot like the Great Commission, when Jesus provides his disciples with some final instructions before he makes his ascension into Heaven.  He commands them, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of age.” Matthew 28”19-20
As Christians, it is our responsibility to share the message of Jesus Christ in our every day life, even if it isn’t the popular thing to do.  Jesus didn’t call it the “Great Suggestion,” he called it the “Great Commission.”  He isn’t suggesting this instruction, he’s commanding it!  Why?  Because Jesus earned the right by shedding his blood for our sins.  He has provided us with eternal life and the forgiveness of sins.  We should be honored to carry out such a task of bringing more people to Christ!  We have a reason to share his word because Jesus goes with us.  He is our source of strength.  He provides us with courage.  He allows the Holy Spirit to work through us.  What an incredible gift.  So go out and make disciples of all nations, trusting in God to fuel your passion for him everyday and allowing his light to shine through in your life....
