HR Roles and Responsibilities
Human Resources are a major role in the successful running of a company.  Human resources can make or break a company as a whole.  The ways human resources change and respond to the updates and changes with globalization, technology, diversity, e-business, and ethics impact the company in many ways, whether changes are positive or negative, these changes will occur.  The updates and changes are happening almost on a daily basis.  With more technology, better software, and the disappearances of ethics, a company strives to succeed; however, the success rate for companies is lessening.
There are nine functions and responsibilities fir the human resource department.  Analyzing and designing jobs, recruiting and hiring employees, training and developing employees, managing performance, planning and administering pay and benefits, maintaining positive employee relations, establishing and administering personnel policies, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and finally, supporting the organization's strategy.  These functions are a must in the human resource department; however, they must change and be revised with time and the ever changing aspects of the business world.
Globalization must be in the company's workload to be able to survive in this day and age.  "Companies are finding that to survive they must compete in international markets as well as fend off foreign competitors' attempts to gain ground in the United States" (Fundamentals of Human Resource Management, 2003).  Hiring employees from the country the company has expanded to should be in the plan as well.  This will expand the workforce as well as bring more diversity in the company.
