O.K. So this is basically a short e-course, my philosophy, on how to achieve success in text battling. I’m going to break this guide down into the extreme basics, moving on bit by bit into the more complex aspects and elements of text battling until every single part of my text battling strategy is covered, beginning with the topic of style.
1.) How to develop your own style. • Now style is something that allows people to recognize who you are without even having to look at your user name. When you drop a verse against an opponent, style is what catches a voter’s attention and brings certain uniqueness to every MC who is dropping bars in a text battle.
• A few examples of people who have unique styles include Nicey , NY Villan, and Little. Each of these guys has certain areas of battling that they capitalize on, and voters immediately see this when they read their verses. For instance, Nicey has always been known for his remarkable multies. It makes his bars unique, and when people read his verses they automatically are expecting to be blown away with clever multies. NY Villan uses complex punches and extremely well thought out word usage, vocabulary and such. When people read his verse, at the end of each line they are already thinking, “Damn, this is going to be hot!” And Little uses a combination of wordplay and punches to blow people’s minds. His wordplay is one of his biggest strengths in battling, not too many people can come up with wordplay like he can. These certain “styles” are very important to these battlers success. These strengths that they capitalize on give them an advantage over others, because the fact that they are so unbelievably creative in those areas makes up for areas that they might not be as strong in.
