Overview of the proposal
The company needs a computer-based publishing system to replace the half manual and half computer-based system to improve the overall performance and system security of the company. The requirements are following:
1) Allow reporter log in and enter news – create a password protection system and connect reporter to a reading and uploading interface, named reporter.
2) A news file – a publisher need a large database to record news and information and specific attributes
3) Allow editor log in and enter news – create a different status from reporter login system, named editor, to allow reading, modifying and approving.
4) A reporter file – create a form for reporter to key in their biography and storing into database
5) An editor file - create a form for editor to key in their biography and storing into database
6) Transfer approved news to compiler – the compiler must collect both approved news and advertisement. If compiler wants to modify the content, compiler must ask editor for approval.
7) Printing Staff can only read the approved news – Only approved file will be passed via compiler to printing staff.
8) Tabloids, while dispatching, will be delivered to distributor.
