club it - servers
1. I would recommend that Club IT uses Windows Small Business Server 2003. It costs around $1,000. In doing some research about Windows Small Business it could pay for itself in about 5 years. I suggest that you implement a Client/Server Network. A client/server network uses a single, specialized computer (the server) to centralize information and resources. The server is designed to completely perform specific tasks such as file sharing, print processing, and Internet connectivity for each of the clients or computers. Additionally, servers can provide other services such as e-mail.
The server can back up information, which can save you time and prevent data loss. Servers also improve security by managing access to files and data, such as financial information, documents and business presentations
2. There could really be some nice features on the Employee Portal if you decided to implement them. Some recommendations would be
? Employee Directory
? Company Calendar
o Listing Shifts, Holidays, and Pay days
? Employee Policies
? Explanations of benefits
? Job listings
? Employee Training Procedures
? Company Form and Reporting
o Performance reviews
o Comments
o IT trouble tickets
o Request days off
? Company News and Information
o Employee Newsletter
o Blog
Also request updates, this isn’t a feature per se, but it is vitally important.
