Internet And Business

The military started an early version of the internet in 1968 called ARPANET. (2) To date, in 2007, with the evolution of the internet businesses have the option of using the World Wide Web to broaden their clientele base. With the proliferation of the internet, many company's marketing capabilities have been expanded, and new ways of doing business have been created.  Marketing is the determination of customer's needs and wants, planning how to meet demands, and then implementing a feasible strategy. In 1994, Pizza Hut emerged with the idea to offer online ordering on its web page. (2) Now there are a lot more online options available than just ordering pizza.  You can use the nutrition calculator to help you analyze food choices you make. You may purchase gift cards, register to receive special offers, or find the nearest location. You even have the choice of ordering in English or Spanish. (3) Pizza Hut's website address is notated on their ads in the weekly newspaper, television and various mailing offers.   

Pizza hut derived a "BOOK IT!"  program for the purpose of promoting reading for preschool through 6th grade students.   The incentive for reading a specified amount of books would be "personal pan pizza." (3) This marketing strategy is an effective way to lure the adult clientele and promote additional sales.
