Interview Questions For Private Wealth Management

Interview Questions for Private Wealth:

Will use Lehman as the Example

•    Can you tell me about your summer analyst experience at Lehman Brothers?
o    How did you choose Lehman Brothers for your internship? What made you want to return as an Analyst?
•    As a summer analyst, will I be working with a specific mentor or for several teams/project group managers? What are some examples of projects/responsibilities in which I will be entrusted if I’m brought on at Lehman Brothers?
•    The review process during the summer sounds pretty intense. Is the feedback during the mid-term and final review very frank? (Good. In interested in learning all I can about the industry and welcome constructive criticism.)
•    What is a typical day like for you?
•    Did you find that the firm takes the time to adequately train you or is training mostly self-motivated?
•    There’s been a lot of press lately regarding lay-offs at big banks and very reputable investment firms. How is Lehman Brothers as a firm not following suit? What are y’all doing to protect the job security of your employees?
•    I read a recent article about Lehman Brothers reporting record net revenues, income and earnings per share for 2007 and Fortune ranked the firm as the #1 Most Admired Securities Firm. How does the firm plan to build on that in 2008?
•    Do you have any advice for me as a MBA student? Is there anything you know now that you wish you had known when you were in my shoes?
•    What is the next step in the interviewing process?
