Abstract
"Greatest leaders are born not made” would be an ambiguous statement to constitute. Historically studies and researches have been written to determine if leaders were born or made, but the fact is that all cases have been opinionated.
This paper discusses the traits or genetics, personality, family upbringing and characteristics that motivates an individual to become or born a great leader in perspective of the modern day notation that leadership sources precedes genes and family, but work or life experience, i.e. academics, military training or sports.

Greatest Leaders Are Born Not Made
It is an uphill battle to discuss this topic, but clearly to be born or made there are contributing factors of origination of leadership. During the first century, Roman civilization had Julius Caesar as a great leader and most recently the twentieth had or have great leaders like Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., John F Kennedy, Nelson Mandela to mention a few.
Leadership is defined broadly and viewed in different ways, according to Strate (2008), “Leadership is a process that involves influence that occurs within a group, and it involves attainment of a goal” and leader can be defined as "a person who influences a group of people towards the achievement of a goal".
