Management Planning
The planning function of management is arguably the most important of the four functions. With the competitiveness of the current business and the advancement of technology, management planning is crucial to the aspect of the business, and will consist of the Vision, Mission, Objective, and Goal. The planning function dictates the process and everyday function of a company, and requires management to study and evaluate where the company is currently, and where it would like to be in the future. Management must decide what actions need to be taken to accomplish any goals or initiatives they have. Planning is important at all levels of management. However, its attributes vary by level of management. “In Chapter 1 you learned about the three major types of managers: top-level (strategic managers), middle-level (tactical managers), and frontline (operational managers). Because planning is an important management function, managers at all three levels use it.” (Bateman & Snell, 2007) This paper will outline the three levels of planning, how the various kinds of plans are integrated, when senior managers must create new strategic plans in order to address a legal, ethical, or corporate social responsibility issue, and how might the new strategic planning have impacted the planning done by managers throughout the company?

There are three levels of the planning functions.
