Introduction

247 Overnight Couriers is a courier company whose customers consist of mainly of businesses and individuals seeking cheap service. The company consists of ten depots under Hendon which is situated in the U.K. 247 Courier is currently managed by Sid Bowles along with ten depot managers.

The current system in which is used to perform office task is Access Database and Microsoft Office .This is mainly due to the low cost structure 247 has built itself upon. Conversely Mr. Bowles is considering upgrading since his company received a request to quote by one of the largest UK-based mail order retailers.
247 Overnight Couriers have lucratively penetrated the market due to the cost of the services rendered and are operating as a miniature organisation. Regardless of 247success, the need to recommend a change to the operation, in order to perceive if taking up new offer would be of any profitability to them.
The value chain framework is an approach for breaking down the sequence (chain) of business functions into the strategically relevant activities through which utility is added to products and services. Value chain analysis is undertaken in order to understand the behavior of costs and the sources of differentiation.

The Value Chain Analysis would allow Mr. Bowles to identify the ways in which he can create value 247 customers, and will also assist in ways the company can maximize its value: whether through superb customer service, great pricing, or jobs well done.
