Companies will go to the furthest extent to sell their products to the consumer through advertising. The documentary “The Persuaders” demonstrates how companies use television shows, movies, and ads as catalysts to promote their product. A few examples of how companies accomplish this are by sending guerilla advertisers to set up projected ads at random locations and spending millions of dollars on air time to run commercials. The companies have a major influence on the way people spend their money.
    Guerilla advertising is a tactic used by companies. It is an attempt to reach potential customers. One location it is used is in Manhattan, more specifically Times Square. Times Square is filled with ads from top to bottom. There are so many of them. In the day time, they all seem to blend in with each other; and at night they are accentuated with bright lights to make them stand out. That is what most of, if not, all company’s want for their ads though, to be noticed. Companies rely on advertisements to let people know they exist. If an ad promoting a company was to be put up somewhere in Times Square, it would have to be placed where people can see it.  Stray buildings, construction sites, and busy intersections make perfect targets for the guerilla advertisers.
     Most of the time companies tend to throw a lot of advertisements on television. Its viewers are the ones hit with much of the advertisements companies produce. Theses advertisements are known as the dreaded commercials. Television viewers always complain about commercials and how too many of them there are. Many viewers have found a solution.
