Gap Analysis: Global Communications
Global Communications is company that wants to expand it’s market and broaden its horizon like any other businesses out there. Their company is starting to diminish and there is a need to do something quick about it. In the past three years, their stock has depreciated in value and there is a great deal of competition.
The head of the company has come up with a plan to revive the company, but in some cases of having a business you have to loose some to win some. What they plan  to do is to market more aggressively, contain new services,and partner up with more providers of cable and wireless. Another thing that Global Communications plans on doing is to outsource  its call centers to Ireland and India and cut cost tremendously. The Issues comes in as to how they are going to communicate this to each other and to the employees who will loose their jobs throughout the whole situations. “Communication is the ingredient to employee satisfaction”(11:5) which is a very true statement, problem is not every employee will be satisfied with every company’s decision.
There are a few concepts that could very well be an opportunity to help the situation on communication. The company has used electronic emails and meetings to provide their ideas and details with one another as best as they possibly can despite the troubles that can happen with using E-mails. The biggest issue with Global communications is how to necessarily us the organizational Hierarchy with the rest of their employees.
