America has always been referred to as a melting pot. A melting book according to our text is defined as the mixing of cultures ideas and peoples that has changed the American nation. The United States has always been called a melting pot due to its history of immigration. There were three major waves of immigration that took place in America. The 1st wave of immigration was the northwestern Europeans, 2nd being the southern and eastern Europeans and the 3rd and final being Hispanics and Asians.
Minority majority is the emergence of a non-Caucasian majority as compared with a white majority. This is likely to be increasingly significant in America because everyday different cultures are growing. From the beginning white men had all the power and you can clearly see how much times of changed and different cultures are raising there social stature significantly everyday. America only use to have Caucasian owned business, and only they had power making them majority of the population. As times have changed and immigration has been in effect more and more cultures have came to persue the American dream. It is predicted that by about 2060, Hispanic Americans, African Americans, and Asian Americans, together will outnumber white Americans.
Honestly I don’t think that minority majority will have a big effect on America as a whole if its smoothly constructed. I think the white race would have a problem excepting it and I definitely think America would be viewed differently. As far as the quality of life, I don’t think it would have a big effect.
