SUBJECT: Importance of Managerial Behaviors



The purpose of this memo is to inform all first-level managers at InterClean to acknowledge the merger and embrace the changes after the merger of EnvironTech. This memo will first outline and explain how a manager’s behavior can impact the productivity of his or her workers. Next the memo will address the types of management actions that are in line with employment laws and those that are not. Finally the memo will wrap up with some best practices for working within a diverse work environment.

As everyone knows, InterClean is currently acquiring EnviornTech. As first-level managers, his or her behavior can impact the productivity of his or her workers due the close interactions with the workers. First-level managers must express fairness in order to retain employee. “Retention comprises the activities of (1) rewarding employees for performing their jobs effectively (2) ensuring harmonious working relations between employees and managers; and (3) maintaining a safe, healthy work environment” (Cascio, 2006, p. 6). For example, if there is an issue first-level manager must be express fairness towards both parties and should not express personal opinions until both parties explain the situation. By listening to both sides of the stories, finding the facts, and identifying solutions to resolve the issue quickly, workers will have confident with the organization and continue working for the company.
