Morgan Stanley, unlike McDonalds, is a much respected company with a great reputation. They have over twenty one positions in Analyst and Associate Programs. Morgan Stanley has locations in areas such as Asia Pacific, Europe, Japan, and North America. The analyst positions vary from location; however North America has the most available positions. Since there are so many positions in the different areas, we are just going to focus on the Sales & Trading analyst position in North America.
For college students who are interested in working for Morgan Stanley, there are summer analyst positions. For the Sales and Trading Summer Program it begins with a week of classroom training. The week includes sessions on product training from Morgan Stanley professionals and technical training to ensure that the Summer Analysts are accustomed to the Morgan Stanley systems before starting on the desk. This may motivated the future summer analysts because Murray’s theory of human personality views people as adaptive when facing dynamic and changing environment. Human behaviour is a goal directed and purposeful. Factors internal to the person and in the person’s external environment govern behaviour. Human beings learn from their interactions with their external environment and from previous experiences. If a person is smart enough to get a job with Morgan Stanley the training program will motivate them because they are goal directed and are probably eager to learn about company and experience the new environment.
