Maslow’s Theory of motivation focuses on personal strengths not just pathology.
Motivation is defined as the act or process of motivating. There are several people that work together to accomplish a common goal. In most work places you will find there are different departments that handle different angles of the companies business. This paper will explain how Maslow’s hierarchy of needs (Self actualization, esteem, Love/Belonging, safety and physiological) will be most effective to motivate employees and groups.
The first level of Maslow’s Theory is the physiological needs which are basic needs such as water, food, rest, sleep and oxygen. These are things that you yourself is responsible for. By reducing current physical discomfort this first step has to be met. When everyone is rested and have food they function better and can think more clearly. Employers should allow employees breaks throughout the day this will give them a chance to gather their thoughts as well as give them time to make personal phone calls and get food to eat. Making sure that there is a microwave in the building will ensure less people to leave off site to eat lunch. Everyone needs to get proper rest in order to be productive on any job. However, this is up to the individual not the company to make sure the worker is rested the company is only for over working employees without any time are hour off it is clearly up to the person to work over regular hours. . Try to get a good night sleep so you want be tired and restless by doing so you will reduce irritation and frustration which may cause you to have a bad attitude. This can really be bad for business.
