OUR MISSION: A SUSTAINABLE ENERGY SUPPLY FOR EVERYONE
Ecofys Germany GmbH has reviewed Nokia's methodology and procedures of data collection,
accounting and reporting of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions as described in the internal
directive "Greenhouse Gas Reporting Methodology in Nokia". Data collection and data
evaluation are in the responsibility of Nokia's Environmental Department, with whom the
objective and terms of the engagement were agreed. Our responsibility, in accordance with
Nokia's management instruction, is to carry out a limited assurance engagement on the
approaches outlined in chapter 4 and 5 of the Methodology, in order to provide conclusions on
the conformity with the principles and requirements of the WBCSD/WRI Greenhouse Gas
Accounting Protocol for the scope of activities and emissions agreed with WWF for the
Climate Savers Programme. We do not accept or assume any responsibility for any other
purpose or to any other person or organization.
OUR CONCLUSIONS
On the basis of our review and in accordance with the terms of reference for our work we
provide the following conclusion:
• Nokia Corporation has applied detailed and systematic procedures for the purpose of
collecting, accounting and reporting of 2007 GHG emission data,
• The responsibilities for the procedures of data reporting, calculations and data control
are well defined within Nokia,
• Nokia has reached a level of reporting of its corporate GHG emissions that largely
avoids omissions but still contains some data gaps from minor sources,
