My name is Bill and I will be presenting part 3 of our project which is answering the question “Why online recruitment is so popular?”   Roughly ten years ago online recruitment was in its infancy and was only used by people who were very comfortable with computers.  Today, online recruitment is part of any organizations smart staffing strategy. (Change slide)  There are two main reasons for the popularity of online recruitment – the cost factor and the convenience factor.  The cost factor: (change slide) More and more companies are beginning to recruit exclusively online due to the ever-improving convenience and efficiency of the different resources available.  It takes a lot of money to place ads and to send people such as a headhunter around the country looking for the best possible candidates.  By posting online you now have the candidates coming to the organization.  Also, by doing this rather than placing ads all over the country at a hefty price an organization only has to place the ad once on any number of popular sites such as monster.com or hotjobs.com for a relatively small fee.  (Change slide) In addition to the largest nationwide recruitment databases, many employers are also utilizing the internet to recruit by posting electronic advertisements on local news sites as well as accepting resumes through their company’s website.  This is also a money saver because it is cheaper to do this than place ads in local papers or sending a representative from their organization to a job fair or fairs to help sell their company.  This will also take a few steps from the traditional process out of the equation.  (Change slide) While a startup busines ...
