Organizational Behavior Terminology and Concepts
    When examining organizational behavior one must first define the term. Braking down organizational behavior begins by determining the organizational culture. “Culture is frequently used in organizational behavior” (Schermerhorn, Hunt & Osborn,). “In the internal environment of organizations, the shared beliefs and values that influence the behavior of organizational members create what is called organizational culture” (Schermerhorn, Hunt & Osborn,). Whenever several people work together in a close environment, many factors come into play. Organizational behavior attempts to understand and model these factors.
    Diversity comes into play when analyzing the behaviors and motivations of a workgroup. Diversity looks at the employee as an individual, one with unique experiences, feelings and beliefs. True diversity recognizes and celebrates these differences and works to incorporate the variances into the corporate culture.  Because the behavior of one member can have an impact, either directly or indirectly, on the behavior of others, any company that supports the diversity of its workforce can also improve employee satisfaction, productivity and retention. If a workforce is diverse, and the company makes an attempt to capitalize on that experience, the benefits can be far more than monetary.
    Communication is the key to any strong organization. Effective communication attempts to convey meaning in order to create shared understanding and requires a vast repertoire of skills.  One must poses abilities in listening, observing, speaking, questioning, analyzing, and evaluating people. ...
