How to Promote Organizational Change and Develop Plans for Resistance
Often when management of companies are trying to undergo business process reengineering or developing plans to create a more efficient and cohesive core culture the employees of the organizations may have some reserves with the new plans. These feelings are quite natural for humans, since human-beings have a tendency to fear what they do not know or understand. For these reasons alone, management must be able to create thought provoking and innovative plans that will seek the attention of its employees and inform them of the reason and opportunities for change along with the promotion of a new culture. This paper will explain the implications of change at Crys Tel, a telecommunications company that began in Illinois by first: (1) giving an appropriate change model for Crys Tel, and developing a plan to address human resistance to change, (2) giving contingency strategies for managing any resistance. Continuing, this paper will give appropriate leadership style and management practices that will contribute successful change. Another aspect of this paper will recommend measures to monitor and evaluate the progress of change at Crys Tel; and analyze three future leadership challenges the company might be faced with between the next five to ten years.
