Organizational Issues and Trends
Team A members work for organizations in a variety of industries. A comparison of each team member’s perception of power and politics in each organization will be reviewed. A compilation of strategies for stress management will be listed.  An evaluation of the business and ethical considerations for organizations operating on a global scale will be discussed. The evolutionary trends in organizational behavior and the impact on organizations will be discussed.  
Power and Politics
    According to Hunt, Osborn, and Schermerhorn (2005), “power is the ability to get someone else to do something you want done, or the ability to make things happen or get things done the way you want” (p.214). The companies on Team A have rank structure similar to the military. The companies have immediate supervisors who supervise members in a section. Several sections have a manager to oversee the supervisors. A director oversees several managers. The titles vary with each organization but the management concept is similar. With the exception of Clearwater Cardiovascular, the companies have multiple facilities in multiple states or countries.
    The perception with all team members, limited power exists at each level of management. Management at every level has tools at their disposal to enforce employees to do what needs to be done. Management styles vary with each company and individual.
    According to Hunt, Osborn, and Schermerhorn (2005), “organizational politics is the management of influence to obtain ends not sanctioned by the organization or to obtain sanctioned ends through nonsanctioned means; it is also the art of creative compromise among competing interests (p.227).
