Personal Values

Personal Values Development  As a child children tend look up to the adults that are close to them to see how they should act. My values and morals were taught and shown to me most by my parents. My definitions of values are that I believe you should treat people the way you want to be treated and that you should always do what is best for you. Also values to me means you know when you are right and you know when you are wrong and you are not afraid to admit it.  In my paper I will discuss my values and the growth process, I will also talk about the ground rules I set for myself, the people and things that have helped to shape my values, I will also discuss the criteria and decision-making factors I use when developing and revising my values. Lastly I will discuss how my values work for me and against me at my workplace.  Values and Growth  My personal values are simply, keep an open-heart and mind and you will grow. When I was young my values were sharing, and caring. In my teenage years my values grew from just sharing and caring to, being responsible and being trustworthy. As an adult, boy have I learned a lot. My values now consist of all the above as well as the addition of good work ethics, and positive and pro-active thinking. It amazes me to see how much a have grow over the years. My values are the core of me; they are what make me the person I am today. Having a good work ethic is important because it shows character. What I mean by that it shows that you take pride in what you do. Positive and pro-active thinking is good for me because it keeps me balanced.
