PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE PAPER
I decided to pursue my MBA degree because of the many reasons. One reason that I can never forget was when my dad used reverse psychology on me. He told me that I could not complete any schooling because I was too involved with my friends. He was right. I had just dropped out from community college a few months back and I was trying to join the NAVY. I was rejected by the navy due to having a GED. The NAVY wanted a high school diploma not a GED. I wasted two years after high school when an ITT recruiter called me. I went for a meeting with her and at the end I gave up my friends for a bachelor’s degree. I wanted to prove to my dad that I could do it, and I did. I also wanted to prove to myself I could do it. I remember the day I was supposed to graduate from high school and not being there. Instead I was at work sweating like crazy in the hot summer at a produce stand. I was the first to graduate with a degree from my family. The day I went down the aisle when I was graduating and saw my family there cheering was a big accomplishment and that is why I want to show them they can do it too if they try. It’s not that I want to be a role model because I know I am not perfect but I want to set a new option that they can take instead of just working after high school.
When I complete my MBA I expect to have opportunities. My MBA will open doors for me. The knowledge that the MBA is going to teach me will help be a better
