Philosophy
    With professional and personal recreation the participant is using their time so the activity should be worth the time that they are spending. Both professional and personal recreation should include trying to achieve a goal, having a very enjoyable time, and be challenging to the body, mind, or both.
    I had a hard time choosing a philosophy that would represent me. I would have to choose Idealism. Everything that I do is based on my values. If it goes against my values then I feel really guilty. A lot of my recreational activities that I do are to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and reflect on my life and to give thanks for everything I have and am able to experience.
    I do have my own recreation and leisure values. Like I said before, if you are doing a recreation activity, you are using your own time, whether it is an hour or a weekend. That time is very valuable, at least to me. You cannot borrow or lend your time; it is yours at that moment only. You should enjoy whatever you are doing to its maximum potential.
I believe that a person should try and get whatever they can out of the recreational activity that they are participating in. They should try and get as much interesting knowledge out of it as possible. The participant should participate in the activity and not hold back. They should be passionate or at least interested in the activity because they will get more satisfaction and enjoyment out of it. A challenge is also important. They should be challenged physically and mentally because when they are done they will have a greater sense of accomplishment. Recreation should not be overly stressful or the point of recreation and leisure is useless.
