Study on Depression, Health Status, and Support for PAS
As part of a study of the population of the Kingdom of the Netherlands aged 65 years and older, researchers conducted some research on three islands of the Kingdom, Sint Maarten, Saba, and Sint Eustatius. The researchers in this (fictitious) study were interested in the relationship of several variables on the support for physician-assisted suicide among the residents of the islands. Physician-assisted suicide is a procedure where a doctor is legally allowed to prescribe a lethal dose of medication to a patient suffering with a terminal illness. PAS is currently legal in a two countries in the world, Switzerland and the Netherlands, and in two states in the USA (Oregon and Washington). Given that PAS is legal in the Netherlands, the researchers are interested in the attitude about it in other parts of the Kingdom. The researchers have collected the data and your team of data analysis specialists has been hired to analyse the data and write up a data analysis report.
