ARAFAT GENERAL STORE
Arafat General Store is a small retailer store where different kinds of consumer products available for resale, it was founded by Kamal Uddin Mojumder in the year of 1999 July 8th with 700 000 as initial capital. The store is situated at 41/4, Banana Commercial Area, Dhaka – 1213. We have found out that there were some problems and Arafat General Store closed on 2008 March. There are 3 employees, one manager who controls and manages two sales persons and the store. Even though the store is a retailer shop they do not earn profit by commission. Whole portion of their profit comes from direct selling and buying of goods. We have visited Arafat General Stores several times, and thoroughly observed and surveyed their business management process and customer service. Arafat had lots of flows in their daily business strategies and activities which the owner could not figure out so the business gradually was losing its objective and therefore was running the store on loss till March 2008 when they finally decided to shut down their business.
