Many corporations and small businesses in America are greedily taking advantage of the global revolutionary phenomenon known as Globalization by outsourcing more and more labor overseas to maximize their profitability and cut costs. The adverse effect to this concept leaves many American business professionals unemployed or with a feeling of a loss of job security. It’s only a matter of time before higher education becomes less important to corporations than on-the-job training, and the middle class gap of America disappears.
For the protection of our working class professionals, it is extremely important to set up limits and regulations regarding the outsourcing of labor.
The corporations and small businesses should be allowed to outsource labor on an as needed for the welfare of the company basis rather than out of their own greed to maximize profits to the extreme. Research should be conducted to come up with a report that companies should file when outsourcing jobs. Reviewable impact statements should be approved by a higher authority, and the information should be released to the company’s employees before any actions may be taken to outsource labor. These statements will address the concerns and reasons the company has to outsource, as well as address the projected impact outsourcing will have on the entire company. The only other solution for the loss of job security for some employees would be to conduct research themselves and find a job in an area of the market that is growing in the United States, such as teaching, even if it means taking a pay cut.
