Moving into the 21stcentury recruiting is an industry that has endured constant change. The creation of new technology, career paths, and the internet has established a need for recruiting agencies to be as resourceful as ever. Increased competition from both the growing number of staffing agencies and the accessibility of applying for jobs on the internet has made it harder than ever to corral in today’s top talent. As technology changes and new job positions are created daily the recruiter must adapt with the times to stay one step ahead of the job market or fall behind the pack. For this research paper I examined some of the more innovative recruiting methods available from some of the top Human Resource organizations throughout the world. I found that some of the issues facing recruiters today can also be part of the solution when used properly. {text:bookmark-start} As of July 2002, over 52 million Americans have used the Internet to find job-related information {text:bookmark-end} while 51% of job seekers report using the Internet as part of their job search strategy. (1) The dawn of the internet age has created opportunities that were previously unavailable to recruiters and human resource departments. Online job boards, search engines, online applications and internet job assessments are examples of how the internet has made a multitude of information available to both job seeker and recruiters with the click of a button.
