The Nature of God

When we read about “The Nature of God”, by Avicenna, I was struck by the word “nature” in the title, which can have two different meanings. This picture reminds me of my parent’s cabin that has been in our family since I was 5 years old, about 34 years. This is truly where I have felt closest to God, or the Ultimate Being. I think it is because of the vivid reminder of the beauty, serenity, and miraculous qualities of “nature. My thoughts are clearer when I am there and I can look at things in their true perspective. When I have troubles in my life, I’m drawn to the cabin, to nature. When I read Avicenna, I found it confusing and almost over analytical. In a way, I think your belief in an Ultimate is a feeling. For me, being at the cabin and within nature, reminds me of what is truly important in life.
