Riordan is poised to begin modernization of their network systems and sub-systems, the timing for China is perfect as there is a move from their current offices to new offices in Shanghai. There is a definite need to modernize current systems to assure competiveness and compatibility with new systems as they are introduced. Below is an executive summary of current systems with a inventory of current systems components at the end of the document (Appendix A), this is included to show issues with equipment meeting ISO standards and for modernization.

Implementation of an automated accounting software package will greatly increase efficiency and improve service in many areas. Orders, purchases, etc. can be set up to take place automatically using inventory levels, dates, etc. Inventory control can be made much more efficient and more accurate with the use of data scanners and electronic shipping software. Data scanners can be used with bar coded packages to enter all information about a package being received and a package being shipped in a single action, thus cutting down on data entry errors and speeding up the entire process.
