Sartbucks

Starbucks is a company that tries to stay on the edge of corporate responsibility.  Their corporate culture supports this desire.    The formal set of conduct for the company can be broken down into 5 sayings.  Be welcoming, be genuine, be considerate, be knowledgeable, and be involved.  Be welcoming - acknowledge the uniqueness of those around you and the value of using a name.  Be genuine – expectations and services connect with people. Be considerate - look within.  Be knowledgeable – always seek more training.  Be involved – at the store, in improvements in the company, in the business, in the community. The informal system at Starbucks is similar with key areas being:   make it your own, everything matters, surprise and delight, embrace resistance and leave your mark.  With these philosophies and a strong beneficiates plan, it is easier to keep employees which leads to better customer satisfaction,  all of which stated with Howards Shultz’s vision for how things should be done.

Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks, the company he built from a Seattle boutique into a global megabrand, had a vision for Starbucks to become a national company with values and guiding principles that employees could be proud of. He wanted to include people in the decision-making process and would be open and honest with them. He believed that it was essential for a company to respect its people, to inspire them and to share the fruits of its success with those who contributed to its long term value. His aspiration was for Starbucks to become the most respected brand name in coffee and for the company to be admired for its corporate responsibility.
