Starbucks begins its high quality efforts with the production of the specialty coffee beans.  Starbucks makes a point to only purchase the premium Arabica beans. The strong relationship formed between Starbucks and the coffee bean exporters allows the quality of the product to be verified throughout the duration of the delivery process. Following the purchase of the finest beans, Starbucks researched and hired experts in order to obtain optimum roasting techniques. Starbucks also strives to attain customers whether they are at work, home, or out on the town.  (Strength)
Marketing
Starbucks takes pride in the coffee experience. They believe there is more to there company than just the cup of coffee, they also like to provide a luxurious ambiance. Starbucks has also used their marketing to build and expand into distribution channels such as grocery stores, retail stores, mail order, and specialty and wholesale channels.  Starbucks has partnered with successful and highly reputable companies in order to increase name recognition. Such companies include Nordstrom’s, Barnes & Nobles, and Pepsi. (Strength)
Technology
Starbucks introduced an espresso cart to the industry. This development offered convenience to the customer as well as improving customer service. (Weakness)
Employee Capabilities
Employees of Starbucks go through extensive training in order to ensure that they have the utmost knowledge of their product and processes involved.
