Situation Analysis
In the University of Phoenix simulation entitled, “Selecting and Initiating Projects,” it states that Friar Tucker International is a hospitality services company (University of Phoenix, 2008). They manage 35 entertainment and cuisine establishments which include hotels, restaurants, sports and family entertainment complexes. The company generates over 300 million in annual revenue and they have an estimated 1,200 employees worldwide (University of Phoenix, 2008).
CEO, Ricardo Bellini, has been very successful with a few new projects that fit within the company’s core business.  However, they have also taken on projects that are not within the company’s core business scope and they have proven to be more challenging.  Mr. Bellini has decided to set up a project selection committee to assure that future projects fall within the company’s strategic objectives (University of Phoenix, 2008).
