Supporting A Position

In the world we live in today I feel that capital punishment is a necessary evil. If you were to talk to random people and ask them their views on capital punishment most would tell you that it is wrong to take the life of another human being.  For some many religious organizations believe that the death penalty is a violation of the sixth commandment. I too believe that to be true but at the same time I feel that if you take a life then your life should be taken. Housing inmates convicted of a vicious crime in prison to serve out a life sentence can be very expensive to taxpayers.
“As of January 1, 2007, there were currently 3,350 inmates on death row. When state prisons are responsible for housing and providing medical are for sick inmates it could be a heavy burden to the taxpayer. I think that the amount of time that an inmate should spend on death row should be less than thirty days. Technology has advanced through the years so inmates should no longer be required to sit ten or fifteen years while waiting to be executed while exhausting all appeal options and at the same time claiming to be innocent. There should be a way to have the information confirmed in a thirty-day timeframe so that the burden of caring for these inmates is minimized. I do not believe in rehabilitating inmates I believe that if given the chance again most will commit violent crimes.
